How could we provide a protected environment for autistic people while still preserving openness? How can we create a big public space while still providing intimate outdoor and indoor spaces?
We propose a building that is both separate pavilions and one continuous building. The building consists with five pavilions each serving a different program: residences, treatment facilities and communal facilities, connected by a series of covered walkways. This strategy also allows to create a diversity of outdoor spaces: one central courtyard as well as small courtyards suitable for specific treatment activities: pet garden, vegetable garden etc. It is a protected oasis…
